Orlando Team will share their experience.
by Patrick ~ July 14th, 2009
The Orlando Missions team will share during a Sunday evening service, July 19th. All of the FNC community will meet at 6:00PM in the Rescue Teen Ministry Worship area of the Moss building for this special worship. Free Valet Parking will be available at the back door of the Moss building. Pastor Pat will be leading worship & several teens will be sharing throught the evening service. You won’t want to miss this special service.
Read on below for a report from them when they were on the field in Orlando.
House number one should be finished by the time you receive this update. We had hoped to finish on Tuesday, but were able to shift most of the workers to project number two while a few stayed behind to add the finishing touches. A few of the ladies stayed at the house this morning to work on the curtains. Praise God, we were able to find two people who were willing to lend us their sewing machines! We’re seeing God’s hand in so many ways on these projects, from the sewing machines to finding one last spool of white thread when I didn’t really have time to go to another store.
Our group will be presenting each of the homeowners with the picture above, framed with parting messages from each worker when we say good-bye tomorrow. It is amazing, and a little frightening, that tomorrow will be our last workday. There seems to be so much left to do, but we are confident that it will get done.
Our devotions this morning were about Jesus washing the feet of ALL of the disciples, even though he knew that one of them had already planned to betray him. We were challenged to not only keep our mouths shut when we encountered people who were difficult to get along with, but to follow Christ’s example of serving them.
Tonight we will be spending a little time out and about. We will probably cap off the evening with dessert at the world’s largest McDonald’s and some time in the pool. I pray that our time will provide the much needed rest time before the final push to complete our projects.
For all you mom’s out there, the kids are diligent about applying sunscreen, and have been eating their fruits and veggies. Patrick put together a great first aid kit, but we are happy to report it is being under utilized. Please continue to pray for strength and patience. A lot of us are hitting “the wall” and it is His strength and your prayers that help us through those times.
Thank you all for your continued prayers.
Your Orlando Team
